Backstage Segment A Rib On Former WWE Commentator?
Updated: Aug 15, 2020
On WWE SmackDown Live this past Tuesday, fans watched a backstage segment that involved Aiden English, Chris Jericho and Renee Young, where English was essentially crying because he had lost his match and Jericho chastised him for it. According to F4WOnline.com, that segment was WWE's way of taking a shot at former company commentator Mauro Ranallo, who recently left the company due to accusations that fellow commentator John Layfield (JBL) bullied him on a regular basis.
Given WWE's lengthy track record when it comes to poking fun at former employees (Jim Ross, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, etc.), it is possible that this segment on SmackDown was a legitimate jab at Ranallo's gripe with JBL and with the WWE itself.
